Who regulates Hesta Health?
Hesta Health is regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care services in England. Its purpose is to work together with the public, systems and providers of care to protect people, and to promote and improve the quality of care. If a service needs to improve, CQC will take action to make sure this happens. Find out more on the CQC website.
Hesta also partners with organisations who are CQC registered to perform blood taking (venepuncture).
Are Hesta Health’s clinicians qualified and insured?
Yes. Every Hesta Health clinician is fully qualified, UK-registered, and individually insured to practise. For example:
GPs are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC)
Midwives with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Dieticians with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
All clinicians complete enhanced DBS checks and ongoing training.
Is Hesta Health an emergency service?
No. Hesta Health provides structured postnatal care but is not an urgent or emergency service. If you experience sudden pain, heavy bleeding, fever, or other urgent symptoms, contact your GP, NHS 111, or dial 999.
How does Hesta Health keep my information safe?
We treat your data with the same level of care as your health. All information is encrypted, stored securely, and handled in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Only the clinicians directly involved in your care can access your records. If you’d like, you can request a full copy or deletion of your data anytime by emailing privacy@hesta.health.
How do I access my clinical information?
You can access your Hesta Health Check results, Hesta Care Guide, and clinical notes through the Hesta Health app.
If you’d like to request a full copy or deletion of your information, email privacy@hesta.health.
Does Hesta Health share my data with other healthcare providers?
We only share your information with other healthcare professionals if you give us your consent or if it is required to ensure your safety. Most of the time, your data stays securely within Hesta Health. If we do need to share it e.g., for example, with your GP or another specialist involved in your care, we’ll always explain why and ask your permission first (unless there’s a legal or urgent safety reason).
How does Hesta Health make sure care is safe?
Safety is built into every step of your journey.
Your Hesta360 and care pathway has been designed with women and a team of multi-disciplinary healthcare experts. A Hesta GP will carefully review your Hesta360 answers, test results and what you have stated as your priorities to inform your ongoing care plan.
All treatment plans are multidisciplinary, ensuring joined-up care.
We use clinical safety incident reporting and review processes aligned with NHS guidance to continuously improve safety. We are CQC registered and have Clinical Safety Officers within the Hesta team.
Our world leading clinical advisors oversee all care pathways, clinical content and protocols to ensure they meet current best practice standards.
How does Hesta Health ensure clinical quality?
Hesta Health ensures clinical quality through a structured governance framework aligned with CQC standards.
Clinical safety, incidents, complaints, safeguarding and audit results are reviewed regularly by our Quality, Risk and Governance Committee, with clear escalation to Board level where needed. We regularly review clinical outcomes, patient feedback and safety data to maintain consistent standards of care, alongside routine audits and quality improvement cycles.
We promote a culture of transparency and continuous learning, where all staff are trained and competent to deliver the care required, with ongoing mandatory training, and compliance monitoring to ensure standards are consistently met.
This ensures our care remains safe, effective, evidence-based and continuously improving.
What if I have a concern or complaint about my care?
If you’re ever worried about the care you’ve received, please contact care@hestahealth.com and your complaint will be reviewed by our team.
We will acknowledge your concern and investigate it carefully. Your feedback helps us improve our service and maintain the highest standards of care.
Is Hesta Health’s advice evidence-based?
Yes - all Hesta Health protocols, questionnaires, and clinical guidance are built from the best available clinical evidence, drawing on international guidelines, peer-reviewed research, and expert consensus in postnatal health, women’s recovery, and mental wellbeing.
